...even though I've:
-not posted in two and a half months
-promised daily posting (which lasted exactly one week)
-given most of my spare time as of late not to blogging, but mostly to watching episodes of Friday Night Lights at a rate of 2/day
Forgive me?
Doesn't really matter because I'm still going to blog. Jokes on you.
Anyway. Today has felt remarkably successful. Zak woke in the morning to go for a run (mad props, dog). I woke in the morning to read. We then reunited, picked up the apartment, went to try some tacos from a new lunch place, picked up the laundry, bought some alcohol [something that has been in limited supply on our shelves lately (and yes, buying alcohol IS a success)], bought Pete a birthday present (no worries, Karin, yours is coming too), and then made some delicious sandwiches of proscuitto, sopresatta, and fresh mozzarella.
And okay, we DID throw in two episodes of Friday Night Lights, and one episode of How I Met Your Mother. But they were felt a bit more earned today than they do most days.
Yesterday was successful as well. We FINALLY DID OUR TAXES. Zak Lost money. I gained around $90 but I had to pay about that much to do them through Turbotax online. If anyone knows of a simple method of completing taxes that will cost me LESS than that, please, please, please. Please. Tell me.
Zak and I promised ourselves that whenever we finished our taxes, it would be a time of celebration. And we would have earned ourselves a drink and a cigar. Stephen, Zak's boss, brought him back a cigar from his Honduras vacation. It was saved for just this occasion.
It was a good weekend.

By the way, those tacos were from Tacombi. And they were LEGIT. I don't claim to be an expert... but best fish tacos I've ever had.

Love the new post. The complexity of paying taxes sucks - welcome to the leagues of people who would love to do something about it :-)
ReplyDeleteI seem to be forcefully joining more and more leagues that are of no interest to me. Seems that half of growing up is exactly that.
ReplyDeleteAlso... I just realized what a clever username you have, TonesNotes.
ReplyDeleteYou should never again feel guilt over watching two episodes of Friday Night Lights. When I discovered the show on Netflix a few months ago, I watched at a rate resembling more of 6 episodes/day. If that is an exaggeration of any kind, it's under. Seriously. I had a problem. BUT IT'S SO GOOD.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, thanks Alex. It is SO GOOD. Zak and I have adopted the phrase WWTRG? As you may have guessed yourself: What would Tim Riggins do?
